Car lights are a crucial component of vehicles, serving both as lighting fixtures and playing a decisive role in the car's appearance. The design of car light moulds must not only ensure functionality but also meet extremely high aesthetic standards. This is especially true for the outer shell of the car light, which involves key materials such as transparent parts and electroplated components, making the mould's precision and quality requirements extremely strict.

Design Requirements for Car Light Moulds

The design of car light moulds has a direct impact on both the vehicle's appearance and performance. The main components of a car light include the lens, decorative frame, lamp shell, reflector, etc. The mould design for each part must consider both aesthetic and functional requirements. For example, the car light lens, as an external transparent part, must meet very high optical standards, with even the smallest imperfections potentially affecting the final product's quality. Therefore, car light mould design not only needs to meet structural precision but also focus on surface treatment, optical transparency, and other detailed considerations.

Precision Design of the Lens Mould

The car light lens mould holds an important position in the entire car light mould, especially the lens of the car's front headlights (also known as the optical lens), which is located on the outermost layer of the headlight and is responsible for providing clear lighting. The design of the car light lens mould requires precision in surface curvature, and the lens surface must be coated with an ultra-hard coating to increase durability and scratch resistance. Both the fixed and movable sides of the mould need precise temperature control to ensure uniformity and accuracy during moulding. The cooling system typically combines a “vertical water pipe + inclined water pipe + spacer water well” design to ensure balanced temperatures during the moulding process, reduce the moulding cycle, and improve plastic part quality.

Appearance Requirements for the Optical Lens

As a representative of the car light's appearance, the optical lens has much higher appearance requirements during design than the main body of the car light. The optical lens not only needs to ensure transparency but also avoid defects such as silver streaks, weld marks, and shrinkage. Even defects that cannot be avoided due to injection moulding or mould structure limitations must be minimized or concentrated in less important areas of the optical lens to ensure the overall aesthetic of the car light.

Precision and Assembly Requirements for Car Light Moulds

The precision of car light moulds is crucial for the final product's assembly and sealing performance. For example, the design of hot embossing ribs and ultrasonic ribs is intended to match the sealing of the lamp body. Hot embossing ribs use heat friction technology and make tight contact with the glue grooves of the lamp body. Their thickness and shape must meet precise requirements; otherwise, it will affect the sealing performance and lead to poor assembly. Ultrasonic ribs and hot embossing screw holes are used to secure the optical lens and lamp body, requiring highly precise dimensions to ensure that no issues arise during the assembly process.

Materials and Manufacturing Technology for Car Light Moulds

To meet the high precision requirements for car light moulds, the selection of materials and manufacturing processes is also critical. Car light moulds typically use high-quality mould steel. These materials must not only have good processing capabilities but also ensure the mould's durability and stability during long-term use. Additionally, during the manufacturing of car light moulds, precise machining and surface treatments are required to ensure that the final product presents perfect quality and appearance.
